YUV Formats. YUV formats fall into two distinct groups, the packed formats where Y, U and V samples are packed together into macropixels which are stored in a single array, and the planar formats where each component is stored as a separate array, the final image being a fusing of the three separate planes. In the diagrams below, the numerical suffix attached to each Y, U or V sample.Becuase the file size matters. In RGB model we have to use 3 bytes (24 bits) to record a color, but in YUV model, we can half the size if we use yuv420p format. Reading from or writing to an image created from a Planar YUV image and then reading from or writing to the Planar YUV image in a kernel even if appropriate synchronization operations (such as a barrier) are performed between the reads or writes is undefined.. There are various flavors of Planar YUV formats, differing in the number of planes.Note: For planar formats this is the bytes per line of the first plane only. The bytes per line of subsequent planes should be calculated as per the frame pixel format. This value is only valid while the frame data is mapped. See also bits (), map (), and mappedBytes ().
Solved: Hello, Does anybody know if there's any IP that allows to convert a YUV Interleaved stream to, for instance semi-planar format NV16? Thanks.
