As you may know, Governor Baker has closed Massachusetts public schools for the rest of the year, and The Pike School will be following his guidance and closing our campus for the remainder of the year.Ask your child to explain the math skills he or she is working on in school. When helping your child with homework or schoolwork assignments, ask him or her to explain how he or she got an answer. Help your child find some appropriate number and problem-solving games to play online. Play card or board games that involve counting or patterns.
In third grade the teachers do not have a HOMEWORK page, so I am trying to prepare the children to be more responsible. Before pack up time, the students are to open their Homework Planner and go down the list to make sure they have all they need to go home. They understand that this is now their job for the last trimester of the school year!
